This is why I watch your shaving videos because you're the type of man who lets the viewers to decide what works on their face rather to tell what should they do
Wet (DE) shaver now for about 16 months and I gotta say, as much as I love the Mach 3's I've used them till my late 20's, I literally cannot go back to using them now. It's not snobbery but DE shaving just feels so much more amazing and provides a better shave compared to cartridges. It almost feels luxurious in a way. I also enjoy combining different razors with different blades against different soaps for different experiences. It just never gets boring and I look forward to every single shave. By the way, safety razors don't need to cost $300. All 3 of my razors are around the $40-60 range and they're built to last longer than myself.
Another informative video. DE shavers don't need an expensive $200+ safety razor. There are quality DE safety razors for $40-60. But you could have compared the Mach3 to a decent $10-20 DE safety razor! When I transitioned from cartridge to DE shaving, I did it because I was tired of spending $2+ for cartridge replacement blades. Now I laugh at the thought of saving $$. Traditional wet shaving became so enjoyable that I eventually went down the rabbit hole to try different safety razors, brushes, artisan soaps/splashes, etc. I agree that cartridge razors can give a comparable shave. But I think most who switch to DE shaving will catch the fever and enjoy the experience that their fathers and grandfathers took for granted. PS: I still have some disposable Mach3s.
Great video, Tony, I like it when you compare anything with the Mach 3, my favorite cartridge razor. I love DE shaving, but I'm not quitting the legendary Mach 3, just the best cartridge there is.
Great shave, as always, Tony. You are right on the mark when you say shaving is a matter of personal preference. I am a dedicated cart user and have gotten a lot of good tips from you. Most recently, how much you like the DSC six blade razor. I was hesitant because of negative reviews on the web. I did try the DSC 4-blade razor, and wow! have I been impressed. I alternate with my Dorco Pace 3 and get great shaves! All the best to you and yours from C & K.
I use the Schick Hydro 5, the fold down lub strip allows you to get right in those awkward spots, for me it is a better everyday razor. But Sunday, from Amazon the (WEISHI Nostalgic Adjustable Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor Matte BLACK), economy ($27 AUD), plus gives a beautiful shave. My technique start on a low setting (2 of 8) to clean up the stubble, pass 1 and then open it up (4 of 8) pass 2. I don't worry about a third pass, I have tried higher settings but seem to always open myself up with cuts and knicks. Thanks Tony for another quality shave video.
The Mach 3 will always be my favorite razor and blade, brah! Traditional DE razors are great too but ive never found a razor/blade combination that gave me a consistent, comfortable, and safe shave. Although as much as i love my Gillette Foamy, ive learned appreciate the benefits of a good soap and brush when I have time for it. Good stuff.
Ahh yes another video from the average guy 😎 I haven't seen the full video yet but instead im here to comment on a video recommendation you should make on since I'm a big Gillette Mach 3 fan You should make a Gillette Mach 3 Disposable Razor 🪒 (the blue & gray handle) they sell them on Amazon for $5 bucks for a pack of 3 VS The Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive Disposable Razor 🪒 (the black & gray handle) they also sell on Amazon for the same price point I think.. but also shaving with a 2 OZ Trail Size Gillette Foamy Original (red bottle) that Amazon also sells for like a $1 something would be a great addition to my shaving playlist lol 😎
Whats up Tony, how you doing brah! Have been returning to carts for about few months now because im working again and have been lacking the time to shave with the DE. I found the fusion pro glide to be a amazing tool for quick efficient and protected shaves. Less aftershave stings too! Maybe im on the edge of making a real return to carts. All the best brah! Would be great if you could review the standard proglide without the power and bells.
For you? Yes! I’ll get a fusion shave done soon. Have you tried the GilletteLabs Exfoliating Bar Razor yet? It’s the best from big blue IMO - thanks for watching 👋🏽
I won't be able to go back to the normal Gillette products after switching to a DE razor. The thing with the switch for me was my sensitive skin. When I used the Gillette fusion my neck would break out full of what looked like pimples and it was so itchy. After switching to the DE razor I get a closer shave with almost no irritation and no breakout. I understand the appeal in that the Mach 3 is so much easier to use and if the hair is shorter faster but after I use something like that I look terrible.
i tent to change it up now and then between DE, cartridge electric depends on time and how long the beard is, if i really dont need a shave only minor stubble and gotta run out the door electric shaver, and yes i often use the Philips Norelco one blade. oh you mention the cheap side well unless you´re a sucker for marketing or falling in the rabbit hole of oh i wanna try this soap, that soap after shave ect yick. Any whozzel Great shaving video Brah, stay safe cheers...Peter
Awesome video brah. I agree mach 3 is a good casual razor and good for on the go or when one needs to travel. But heres the catch it takes time to shave longer beard growth so its good to shave 2 or 3 day stubble at best. But that safety razor was like hot knife through butter ahaha.
Easy rinse off smells great instantly softens facial hair and ultra mentholated instantly foams up its cheaters shave gel definitely for the average guy

Let's be honest, as much as the majority of us despise the stupidity and wokeness of Gillette in recent years (P&G actually!) and the ridiculous cost of their cart's, the Mach 3, IMO was and still is THE best cartridge razor ever made! I used to love watching the 90's Gillette ad's as a kid, I couldn't wait til I was old enough to shave and like many, the Mach 3 was my 1st razor! It was only the ever increasing cost of the cart's and the annoyingly woke adverts that made me switch to DE shaving, which I'm glad I did, but I still have my old "Cool Blue" and "Red Turbo Champion" Mach 3 handles just for nostalgia!

A quick question brah do you find that safety razors or mach 3 give a closer bbs shave?. All the best my friend.
Safety Razors 🪒 for the win, but it takes good technique and patience. Thanks for watching 👋🏽

Gillette release razors with sharp smooth blades, years down the line the quality of new cartridges goes down. Scam company
I hear you. I believe there have been lots of counterfeit blades released to the market lately. You want to make sure you by from a reputable source
